OKUMIDORI - Koicha Grade Matcha

Koicha, or “thick tea,” is the pinnacle of ceremonial matcha, reserved for special occasions in traditional Japanese tea ceremonies. It uses a higher concentration of matcha powder mixed slowly with less water to create a rich, velvety paste-like consistency without froth.

Our Koicha Grade matcha delivers a smoother, sweeter profile, with subtle notes of natural sweetness that evoke fresh grass and a hint of honey, perfect for the liberal thickness of koicha.

How to prepare:

Sift 3-4 grams (about 2 teaspoons) of matcha into your bowl. Add 30-40 ml of hot water. Stir gently in a kneading motion with the whisk (without creating froth) until it forms a smooth, glossy paste.
